Welcome!

Welcome to the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries (MAALL) website. We are a regional chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) with nearly 300 members from 14 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Our members include legal information professionals working in academic, court, government, law firm, and local law libraries.

MAALL has been a tremendous benefit to myself and all of the members through our Annual Meeting, webinars, committee work, Book to Action, and many other forms of collaboration. MAALL is a wonderful organization to stay connected with other regional Law Libraries, and to gather information and experiences from those in similar settings and those who are completely different settings. We strive to be inclusive and offering to librarians of all experiences and from all different institutions.

The work of MAALL could not be done without the lifeblood of the organization: the membership. We have been so lucky to have very dedicated members, and are excited to see so many eager and engaged newer librarians join our ranks and the work. Whether it is as a member of a committee, participation in an event, or in a position of leadership, there is an opportunity for every MAALL member to participate and do valuable work for the organization, which is also rewarding and educational for the members themselves. Our goal is to make work meaningful so that all members feel pride and value in being part of MAALL. We truly want every member to get involved--whether through committees, presenting at the Annual Meeting, running for a position on the executive board, or attending our events as an engaged member of our profession. We look forward to hearing your voice in MAALL.

If you are interested in learning more about MAALL, you can review our MAALL Markings newsletter and other important happenings on our website. For those interested in joining MAALL, you can register on our website. MAALL members can utilize the website to post job openings, access contact and policy information, and volunteer for MAALL committees. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

I am proud to serve as MAALL President for 2025-2026 and look forward to working with all of our members to continue our proud tradition of service in the coming year.
