2024 Annual Meeting

The MAALL Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 through Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Lincoln, Nebraska's Historic Haymarket District. Saturday morning's events will be hosted at the UNL College of Law, Schmid Law Library.

Hotel information, including booking instructions and the reservation link, is now available. The last day for reservations is Monday, October 28th.

This year's Book to Action title will be Class: A Memoir of Motherhood, Hunger, and Higher Education, by Stephanie Land, follow up to Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive; the local charity will be Head Start of Lincoln, run through the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties.

Haiku Contest

One of the traditions at the University of Nebraska College of Law is an annual Haiku Contest during National Library Week and National Poetry Month. To help you experience one of our traditions and get you excited for the upcoming meeting, the Local Arrangements Committee is hosting a haiku contest!

To participate, send your submission to Sandy Placzek (splaczek2@unl.edu) before noon on Thursday, November 7th. Submissions will be posted on the Haiku LibGuide, along with examples and further information. Voting will by via Google Form from 1 PM on Thursday, November 7th through 11 AM on Friday, November 8th. The entry with the most votes will be announced at Friday's lunch with the winner receiving a fabulous swag bag of Lincoln and Nebraska-related treats!
