Getting to Memphis

If you're planning to fly into Memphis, the Memphis International Airport is approximately 15 minutes from the downtown area. While car rentals are available at the airport, that is not your only option for ground transportation. Uber and Lyft have designated pick up areas, and taxis regularly depart from the Concourse B Baggage Claim area. For more information on ground transportation from the airport click here.

Memphis also has an Amtrak station conveniently located downtown about a mile from the Springhill Suites and the Courtyard Marriot. If you aren't up for the walk, Uber and Lyft are available. You could also take one of our vintage trolleys down Main Street to either hotel.

While you're here...

In addition to Uber, Lyft and traditional taxi service, Memphis also has a bike and electric scooter share programs. Click here here for a comprehensive look at traveling around the city without a car.

The Springhill Suites and the Courtyard Marriott are located a stones throw away from each other in downtown Memphis. With many world class restaurants and shops in the downtown area, we invite you to explore the neighborhood. While you may arrive hungry, there's little chance you'll leave the city on an empty stomach. Memphis is known for its delicious BBQ, and with over 100 BBQ restaurants in the city, it can be hard to decide where to go. Locals tend to argue between RendezvousCentral BBQ, and The Bar-B-Q Shop, but really, you can't go wrong with either! If you reach your BBQ limit, have no fear, there are many more food options to choose from!

Memphis is called the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock and Roll for a reason. If you are a music fan, this is the city for you! In addition to the live music options throughout the city, there are several must see music museums. A few favorites include Graceland, Sun Studio and the Stax Museum of American Soul Music

Bring the family! Whether you are visiting the Memphis Zoo, the ducks at the famous Peabody Hotel, or exploring one of the nation's largest urban parks, Memphis has tons of activities for the whole family.

Planned Events

Dine-Arounds will take place Thursday night! You can view the menus of the chosen restaurants and sign up here! All of the restaurants are within walking distance of the conference hotels and maps will be provided to each group to ensure no one gets lost.

The conference reception will be held on Friday night at the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel. In addition to the festivities, you will have the opportunity to tour the museum on your own. While transportation to this event will be provided, you could take the trolley as there is a stop right outside the museum.

Saturday's events will take place at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law located about two blocks from the hotels. Simply leave your hotel through one of the riverside exits and walk across the courtyard to Front Street. Once you hit Front Street, take a left and the law school building will be on your right. The building's address is 1 North Front Street.
