Program descriptions are now available, along with a draft conference schedule, which is currently subject to change.

You can get directions from Google Maps or you can follow the shortcut route filmed by SaraJean Petite. The only events not happening at the Tinkham Veale University Center are the Wednesday night opening reception (which is being held at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law) and Thursday night dine arounds.

Full conference registration includes the following meals: Wednesday breakfast, Wednesday lunch, Wednesday night opening reception, Thursday breakfast, Thursday lunch, and Friday breakfast.

Thursday dine-arounds

This year we will be offering Watch-Arounds: a dinner followed by a play or an orchestra performance on Thursday, October 23rd.

Like dine-arounds, the cost of the meal and the event ticket will be the responsibility of the individual, and each individual should also individually purchase their own orchestra or theater ticket, so that they can choose their preferred price point and seating location.

Because these events could sell out, we encourage anyone who is interested to on the sign up ASAP on Sign-Up Genius and purchase their ticket. The two events are as follows:

  • The world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra is performing Beethoven's Ode to Joy, one of his most popular works. The orchestra performs at Severance Hall, which is located next to the Tinkham Veale University Center (walking distance from the conference hotel). We intend to choose a nearby restaurant to have dinner before the show (TBD). We are so lucky to have this cultural gem within walking distance of the conference! Here's the link to purchase tickets (be sure to select October 23rd at 7:30pm).
  • The Dobama Theatre Company is performing the Cleveland premiere of the play Witch, by Jen Silverman, at the Dobama Theatre, located within the Lee Road Branch of Heights Libraries. Librarians will appreciate this wonderful collaboration between the library and the theater company. We will use ride-share for transportation to the theater, and we will pick a location near the theater to have dinner prior to the show (TBD). For more information about the play (and content warnings) and to purchase tickets, please visit their website and choose Thursday, October 23rd at 7:30pm.

Things to do in Cleveland

There's something for everyone to do in Cleveland!

Welcome to Cleveland! The land of creativity. This is The Land. The Land for keeping 'em talking. The Land for getting inspired. And The Land for living it up. No bones about it, we're never losing sight of who we are or who we're always going to be. And for that, you're welcome.

Also, check out this list of local information from ORALL member Jaime A. Klausner.

"In Cleveland, we've got world-class experiences without the world-class ego. And for that, you're welcome."
