Welcome!

Welcome to the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries (MAALL) website. We are a regional chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) with nearly 300 members from 13 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Our members include legal information professionals working in academic, court, government, law firm, and local law libraries.

MAALL is the perfect combination of new ideas, the steadfast dedication of our members, and a host of diverse experiences.  We strive for growth, camaraderie, and inclusivity in all that we do.  Members engage in research, education, mentoring, and service, all in the pursuit of maintaining the value of legal information professionals in their institutions and communities.

MAALL works to serve our members and those outside of our community.  The MAALL Book to Action program is one way we reach out to the community.  The Book to Action program is a service project that encourages MAALL members to read a common title together and benefit the community in which the Annual Meeting is hosted by providing books to those who need them.

Every MAALL member is a valuable resource to the organization.  They are a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and talent.  We want to be resources to members and soon-to-be members alike plus the communities in which we live and work.

If you are interested in learning more about MAALL, you can review our MAALL Markings newsletter and other important happenings on our website. For those interested in joining MAALL, you can register on our website. MAALL members can utilize the website to post job openings, access contact and policy information, and volunteer for MAALL committees. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

I am proud to serve as MAALL President for 2023-2024 and look forward to working with all of our members to continue our proud tradition of service in the coming year.
