MAALL Code of Conduct

The Mid-America Association of Law Libraries seeks to provide an event environment in which diverse participants may learn, network, and enjoy the company of colleagues in an environment of mutual human respect. We recognize a shared responsibility to create that environment for the benefit of all participants, including members, speakers, and exhibitors.

Some behaviors are specifically prohibited, including:

  • Harassment or intimidation based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity;
  • Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking (physical or virtual), or unsolicited physical contact; or
  • Yelling or threatening (verbally or physically).

All participants are expected to observe these rules in all event venues, including online venues and conference social events. Participants may also be required to follow the policies of their place of employment. Participants asked to stop a hostile or harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Participants violating these rules may be expelled from the meeting.

The complete policy is available in the policy manual, accessible to logged-in MAALL members.
